About the strength of the arrow
As i know there are 24 tons and the 30 tons ,36 tonsand 40 tons and 46 tons fiber in the arrow production(which is very similiar as fishing rods) ,brands like mitsubishi fiber , and toray fiber ,korean sk fiber ,and american brand, germany brand ,chinse brand fiber,,but like fishing rods,more manufacturers think the toray and mitsubsihi is better quality(,or mayber in China,we can get toray and mitsubishi fiber easier than other brands),,But the same 24tons, or other tons fiber, different brands have different characters,like thickness and resin perenctage and ” strength” and consistency and weight, which decide the arrow quality much,,,
so you will see many arrow company claimed they use the high modulus fiber (higher tons ) ,basically we call the fiber tons above(or same) 30 tons the high modulus fiber,, usually the higher tons fiber with lighter weight and better “strength “ but higher means it is easier to be brittle, and the "strength" issue, we all know that “strength” is a very big concept,, like twist, flex, squash and tensile.etc , like coin has two sides,,, different tons fiber has the advantage and weakness,,not the higher modulus fiber arrows are the better arrows,, sometimes the arrow company use the trick to attract customers, as business's first goal is to make more profit and to make the customers think they have new and better products,yes i am also the business man,,but i always believe that archery shooting is a very comprehensive sport,, the bow and the bow accessory,the arrows and your tuning, also your training and your mind are connected to your final performance,, not the higher price arrows can get you knock down a bigger buck or high score,,so i say not the higher modulus fiber is better , when you think you need lighter weight ,faster speed arrows, you can consider buying the higher modulus arrows,,(yes ,you need to find a very trust-able supplier) ,as even we are manufacturer ,it is also very hard for us to separate if the fiber material is higher modulus,, generally speaking,the higher modulus fiber means lighter weight,,（generally but not all,,like i said even the same tons fiber, the thickness of fiber layer is different,, thinner layer surely is lighter weight, but they are the same tons fiber)
from my point of view,, the arrow manufacturer, we must consider many things of fiber material ,, like the cost of fiber, and if this type fiber can bring the shafts spine tolerance tight and straghtness good and weight toleance tight and strong enough for shooting, and the qualified rate the final shafts, so i think other manufacturers also consider these,, you may also understand the higher modulus is not equal to better quality or “strength “now,also the fiber layer construction can have big influence of “strength”, we use the 0/90 oriented layers, also some manufacturers use other degree construction
actually most fiber are good enough for common hunting or target shooting ,,,like the most common .245" or .246" (6mm arrows ), the 24 tons are very common used, many many arrow brands use the 24 tons to build the 6mm arrows,, but for some .165" (4mm) and .204" (5mm) arrows,, yes, now more arrow brands use the 30 tons and higher modulus 40 tons and 46 tons fiber to get the lighter weight,, for example like the .165" spine 300 arrows, if you use the 24 tons fiber, the gpi reach 12 grains/inch, surely many archers think this is too heavy, so manufacturers use the higher modulus fiber to build this spine and get the 9-10 gpi spine 300 shafts,, but i can’t say the 12gpi is better than 9-10 gpi ,,as there are still some hunters need the heavier weight arrows,, so it is up to you ,if you chase the lighter weight you can choose the higher modulus fiber,,and if you accept the higher price and believe you will have market as you claim the higher modulus arrows you are selling ,then you can have the higher modulus fiber arrow... hope my explain do a little help
